NIST Teachers return to Sep/2005 Vets League and snatch the championship again

Date: 12/Sep/2005
I would like to thank all of you once again for being a part of our 4th monthly "Bangkok Vets League" competition on the weekend. It was clearly visible that all the teams had a good run, with plenty of laughs in between.

NIST Teachers kept their 100% record of winning the Top Trophy every time they participated, with the most goal-scored game ever (6-2 against Germans).

This month, the participating teams were:
    • NIST Teachers
    • British Club <== BadCup! holders
    • German
    • Harrow Teachers <== defending Champ!
    • Scandinavian Vikings

The day seemed like it would go the Vikings way (with a convincing 4 wins and 14 points at the Group Stage), but NIST Teachers played their best game in the Grand Final winning on penalties, following an exciting 2-2 draw in the regulation time (coming from behind both times).

While our defending champions, Harrow Teachers, couldn't avoid lifting the "BadCup!" with 0 ("zero") points, above all, it was a welcome sight to have the British Club grabbing a respectable 3rd place, following 3 "BadCup!" honours in the League's first 3 competitions..!! (that's doing 2 better and 2 more to go.!).

And, it's all in the name of good fun, lads..!

Here's the complete scores of the day ==>

Thanks, once again, for supporting the "Vets" idea. Hopefully, we can expand it with greater interest in the near future. As always, I would also appreciate any of your suggestions on how to improve the event.

Stay tuned for more.

Kind regards,
-Eralp
